Create a Recurring Event in iGEO

Sometimes, we need to create a recurring event in iGEO for our employees, and for this reason, this functionality is perfect for these situations.

To put this functionality into context, let’s first remember what events in iGEO are.

What is considered an event in iGEO?

We can define it as all those events that technicians have to carry out besides pest control and environmental health services.

It is very important that each employee’s agenda reflects all the activities they perform, as you know, planning is one of the most important tasks for companies in the sector.

What types of events are there?

There are different types of events, such as: training, calls, visits, WhatsApp, etc.

As each company is a world unto itself, in iGEO you can assign events to any user/employee of the company, so that when accessing the Planning you have a general and complete version of your entire team’s agenda.

Surely on many occasions, you need to indicate that the event is recurring and repeats every so often. This is where our new functionality comes into play.

How do we make them recurring?

An event can be created from two different places:

  • From the customer’s file
  • From the Planning module > Actions > Create event

From both places, we must fill in all the information related to the event, and we will find the option “Recurring event”.

Activate the "Recurring event" check in iGEO from the Planning

Once the recurrence is selected, we will need to specify the frequency: “daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and yearly”.

Should we mark the inclusion of the event in the optimizer?

It’s also important to consider the “Include event in the route optimizer” check.

As you well know, in the iGEO Planning, you have the option to use the Route Optimizer with Artificial Intelligence so that each technician has their route optimized taking into account all necessary factors, such as: working hours, business line, commercial zones, etc.

In case the event does not have a specific time and can be executed within an estimated period, we can tick the “Include event in the route optimizer” check, and our optimizer will take this event into account to place it on the day and time that best suits, optimizing it along with the rest of the scheduled events and services.
